Android Auto hands-on

Android Auto hands-on demo: the future of driving

Google is not shy about trying new technologies and venturing into new markets. They are now exploring new roads by jumping into the automotive world. Android Auto will take over your dashboard with helpful features and safe controls. We had to give Android Auto a try while at Google IO, and we have to say the new platform is looking great.
The home screen is simple and to the point, offering a very light experience and getting rid of all bells and whistles. Android Auto’s features revolve around communications, navigation and music, the three main functions people will want to access while driving. There are no unnecessary distraction and the easy controls will keep you safe.

We spent some time going over navigation and Android Auto’s basic features, but the second half showcases Android Auto’s real beauty. We jump into voice controls, which extend far past simple commands. You can ask Google about local businesses, for example. You can also ask Android Auto to play music, Navigate to places and even read/send text messages or make calls.
It takes full control of your smartphone’s main functions, while staying fun, classy and safe. User’s can take full advantage of Android’s services without ever looking away or taking their hands off the road. The team also tells us they are keeping their minds open for possible upcoming apps and features. Of course, future functions will depend on demand, needs and safety.
You can learn all about Android TV in our announcement post. Check it out after you go through the hands-on video.
